What inspired you to join AMP, and what do you enjoy most about your role?
I was inspired to join AMP because of its clear commitment to doing the right thing for customers while operating in a complex, highly regulated sector. From the outset, it was evident that AMP values integrity, accountability, and strong governance, which aligns closely with my own professional values.
What I enjoy most about my role is the balance between strategic oversight and practical, day-to-day impact. As Compliance Manger, I’m able to influence decision-making at a senior level while also supporting teams operationally to embed good conduct, Consumer Duty outcomes, and regulatory best practice into how we work every day.
What unique skills or strengths do you bring to our team?
I bring a combination of strong technical regulatory knowledge and a very pragmatic, people-focused approach to compliance. I’m particularly skilled at translating complex FCA requirements into clear, workable processes that teams can genuinely apply in practice.
My strengths include building robust, audit-ready frameworks, identifying risk early, and providing clear, confident advice to senior stakeholders. I pride myself on being approachable and supportive, ensuring compliance is seen as an enabler of good business and customer outcomes rather than a barrier.
How do you stay updated with industry trends or developments in your field?
I stay up to date through a combination of regular FCA publications, policy statements, and Dear CEO letters, alongside industry briefings, regulatory updates from professional bodies, and peer discussions across the compliance network.
I also actively review emerging themes from complaints data, supervisory communications, and enforcement actions to understand how regulatory expectations are evolving in practice. This allows me to anticipate change rather than react to it, and to proactively advise the business on areas of focus.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time, and how does it influence your work?
In my free time, I enjoy activities that allow me to switch off and reset, particularly spending time with family and focusing on wellbeing. I also enjoy staying organised and reflective, which mirrors how I approach my professional responsibilities.
This balance helps me remain calm, objective, and resilient in a demanding role. It supports clear decision-making, especially in high-pressure situations such as complaint escalations, regulatory queries, or complex risk assessments.
